The CanMEDS resources include resources to assist medical educators and practising physicians as they teach, assess and embody the CanMEDS Roles. The CanMEDS physician-competency framework was initially developed to better prepare future physicians to meet evolving patient needs. As CanMEDS was gradually implemented in educational standards, practising physicians from various healthcare backgrounds and settings began using it as a guide for continuing professional development.
