PIANO RUB-ON DECAL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Apply to clean, dry sealer, lacquer or shellac. Do not sand finish because it creates a fine layer of dust which will impair adhesion.
2. Remove the backing paper and save for step #7.
3. Place decal in desired spot. Check alignment with ruler and tape down corners - being careful not to put pressure on the decal with fingers.
4. Rub off decal with a flat broad end burnishing instrument. Burnish image with uniform pressure. Decal may appear hazy at first. Pay attention not to miss small letters, characters or intricate detail.
5. Lift a corner and check to see if any portion remains on the carrier sheet; if that it the case, re-burnish that area while still taped in place.
6. Remove carrier sheet slowly (rubbing in front of lifted portion as you go). This is especially important with larger soundboard decals.
7. Place backing sheet (saved from step #2 above) on top of the decal and burnish again to insure maximum adhesion.
8. To protect the decal and bring up the image, we recommend spraying or brushing a very light finish over it. Clear varnish or lacquer usually works very well for this. Always allow any finish to dry thoroughly.
